Nick Kerr – Managing Principal
Nick has over 20 years’ experience in calculating losses for the purpose of insurance claims and advising on insurance policy set up.
He has previously worked for the “Big 4” accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked for ten years for the global insurance broker Marsh. During his time working for Marsh, Nick led the Forensic division in NSW and was the Technical Head of the Forensic division in the Pacific region.
Nick is the owner of Claims Consulting Group which he founded in 2021.
During his career, Nick has gained extensive experience across a wide range of industries. He has advised clients both in Australia and overseas, including in relation to numerous well known catastrophe events such as the Boxing Day Tsunami in Asia in 2004, Hurricane Wilma in Mexico in 2006, the Christchurch Earthquakes in New Zealand in 2010 / 2011, Hailstorm in Sydney in 2015, Cyclone Debbie in Queensland in 2017, COVID-19 in 2020, East Coast Floods in 2022, and Cyclone Gabrielle in New Zealand in 2023.
Nick has advised some of Australia’s largest and most well known companies, including preparing claims valued at in excess of $100m.
Nick has presented on the topic of Business Interruption insurance many times.
Nick combines his experience, technical insurance policy knowledge, and attention to detail to deliver optimal outcomes for his clients.
Nick holds the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Commerce, The University of Sydney.
Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Diploma of Financial Services – Loss Adjusting, Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Certified Insurance Professional, Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
